hospice

Hospice care is available for any pet that has been diagnosed with a terminal illness or condition.  Hospice allows you time to make decisions regarding your pet’s care and to prepare for the impending death of your companion.  Options and services will be discussed in-depth, allowing you to make informed decisions that work best for your unique family needs.

Veterinary hospice care is focused on maintaining comfort and a good quality of life for your pet.  Pain recognition and treatment, nutritional support, fluid therapy, and incontinence management will be reviewed.  You, as the owner of your pet, are an integral part of the hospice team and your input will be invaluable.

Euthanasia

Sadly, there will come a time to say goodbye to your pet.  This is perhaps the most difficult and painful decision you may have to make as a pet owner.  Pets give us unconditional love and support.  Providing them with a peaceful end to their lives is a selfless, compassionate act of love.

The euthanasia process will be as peaceful and painless as possible.  You can choose any location that works best for you and your pet.  You may pick a favorite room, a special place or even a quiet spot outdoors.  A sedative will be provided for your pet to ease any anxiety.  As you say goodbye, your pet will be surrounded & comforted by the people who love him/her.  Afterwards, you may spend as much time with your pet as you need.

When the time for euthanasia is getting close, please call to discuss your options.  Cremation will also be discussed.

If you have questions regarding veterinary hospice care or need to discuss possible euthanasia for your pet, please feel free to call or email.
